Privacy notice
About this notice
This notice covers Ride Tempo: the website and web app at ridetempo.app, the Windows and Android apps, the optional Ride Tempo account, and the connector for AI assistants at api.ridetempo.app. Ride Tempo is run by an independent developer, who is responsible for the data described here. Contact: support@ridetempo.app. Last updated 13 October 2026.
What is collected, in short
- Without an account: nothing personal. Your rides and settings stay on your device. Anonymous daily usage totals are counted unless you turn them off.
- With an account: your Google name, email address and profile picture, and the training you choose to keep in your account (workouts, calendar, settings and, only if you tick it, rides with heart rate).
- With Strava connected: Strava's permission to upload, stored encrypted.
- With an AI assistant connected: a record of the connection, so you can see and remove it.
Ride Tempo does not sell your data, show advertising, or use your data to train AI models.
Kept on this device
Your FTP, imported workouts, ride history (summaries and FIT files) and settings are stored in this browser's local storage and IndexedDB. They are not sent to us unless you sign in (see Your account). There is no advertising, no third-party tracking, and the app sets no cookies.
Anonymous usage counts
To know whether Ride Tempo is working for people, the app adds one to a daily total when certain things happen: the app or welcome page is opened, a trainer connects or fails to, a workout or ride starts, finishes or is stopped early, a ride is saved, rated, shared or uploaded to Strava, training is downloaded for an AI assistant, and someone signs in. It also counts, once a week, that this device was used, and once each when it reaches 1, 3 and 10 finished workouts; this device keeps that tally itself. Each count records only the day, what happened, the kind of app (browser, installed or desktop) and, if you arrived through a link with a campaign tag, that tag.
Nothing else is sent or stored: no account, no device identifier, no IP address, no location, and none of your rides, power or heart rate. The totals cannot be traced back to you. Counting is off automatically if your browser sends Global Privacy Control.
Bluetooth
Power, cadence, speed and heart rate are read from your trainer and sensors over Bluetooth and processed in this browser. Your browser asks before any device is shared with the app.
When data leaves the device
Only when you choose to. Downloading a FIT file saves it to your computer. If you connect intervals.icu, rides you upload, including heart rate, are sent directly from this browser to intervals.icu under their privacy policy. Reading from intervals.icu (planned workouts, your FTP, weight and threshold heart rate, and past rides you choose to import) also goes directly between this browser and intervals.icu, and what is read stays on this device. Your intervals.icu API key is stored only in this browser and sent only to intervals.icu.
Your account
An account is optional. Signing in with Google shares your name, email address and profile picture with Ride Tempo; nothing else from your Google account is read. Signing in keeps your workouts, calendar, imported routes, favourites and settings on Ride Tempo's servers (Cloudflare), so they follow you between devices; the sign-in screen says so before you sign in. Your rides, which include heart rate, are kept there only if you tick "Keep my rides too" or turn on "Include my rides" in Data and privacy. You can turn either off there at any time. Your intervals.icu key is never stored there. "Delete account data" in Data and privacy removes all of it; data on your devices stays until you delete it there.
Strava
Connecting Strava needs an account. Strava gives Ride Tempo permission to upload activities; that permission is stored encrypted with your account so every device you sign in on can use it. A ride, including heart rate, is sent to Strava only when you press Upload to Strava, or after each ride if you turned on automatic uploads. Disconnecting Strava, or deleting your account data, revokes the permission on Strava and removes it from our servers.
AI assistants
Download for AI (You › AI assistants) builds a file of your training on this device; it goes only where you upload it. If you connect ChatGPT, Claude or another assistant to your account, you approve it on a Ride Tempo page that lists what it can read: your synced rides (including heart rate), FTP, zone levels, fitness and planned workouts. It can also add workouts it makes for you, which appear in Workouts › From AI; it can't change or delete anything. What it reads is sent to that assistant's company and handled under their privacy policy. Disconnect it in You › AI assistants at any time; deleting your account data disconnects every assistant too.
Shared workouts
Sharing a workout needs an account. It makes a link that signed-in riders who have it can open, showing that workout only: its steps, name, description, coaching lines and, if an assistant made it, the assistant's name. Your name, email, FTP and rides are never shared. Opening a link needs an account too. Deleting your account data removes your links.
Roadmap votes and suggestions
Anyone can read the roadmap. Voting and suggesting need an account. Your votes and suggestions are stored with your account so each rider votes once; suggestions are shown to everyone without your name or email. You can withdraw a suggestion at any time, and deleting your account data removes your votes and suggestions.
Group rides
In a group ride, your chosen display name and your live power, share of FTP, cadence and elapsed time are relayed to the other riders in the room, through a service we run on Cloudflare. Heart rate is relayed only if you turn that on. The room keeps nothing: it exists in memory while riders are connected and is gone when the last one leaves.
Ride videos
Your own video files stay on this device and are never uploaded or copied. If you link a YouTube video to a route, it plays in YouTube's privacy-enhanced embedded player only when you ride that route; YouTube then receives the request as it would for any embedded video, under Google's privacy policy.
Third parties when loading the page
The page is served by Cloudflare. The Inter and Newsreader typefaces are loaded from Google Fonts, which means your browser requests them from Google.
How long it is kept
Data in your account is kept until you delete it. "Delete account data" in Data and privacy removes your account, everything stored with it (including ride files), your share links, Strava permission and every AI assistant connection. Sign-in sessions end after 90 days. Usage counts are daily totals with nothing identifying in them.
Your rights
You can see, download and delete your data in the app at any time. You can also email support@ridetempo.app to ask for a copy, a correction or deletion, or to object to any use of your data, and you will get a reply within a month. If you are unhappy with the answer, you can complain to your local data protection authority.
Children
Ride Tempo is not made for children under 13, and an account needs a Google account, which has its own age rules.
Health and safety
Indoor training is strenuous. Check with a doctor if you have any health concerns, and stop if you feel unwell. Targets and estimates in this app are guides, not medical advice.
Independence
This app is independent and not affiliated with Wahoo Fitness, Zwift, Garmin, intervals.icu or any trainer maker. Product names are used only to describe compatibility.
To delete your data, on this device or in your account, use Data and privacy. Questions about privacy go to support@ridetempo.app.
